It is an HFC Azeotropic blend of three refrigerants namely R 143a (52%), R125 (44%) and R 134a (4%)1. Fastcool 404A blends are suitable for refrigeration applications like food display cases, deep freezers, storage cases, cold storage rooms, ice machines, food processing units, industrial refrigeration and transport refrigeration like refrigerated trucks, refrigerated containers, vessels and trawler cold rooms12.

Fastcool R-404a is an HFC Azeotropic blend and for this reason, it is suggested to use the liquid form of refrigerant for charging the system to avoid damage. Fastcool 404a requires a POLYESTER (POE) Lubricant to ensure complete miscibility between oil and refrigerant. Miscibility is important for oil return to the compressor especially in a large system with long runs of piping. POE Oil absorbs moisture quickly when it is exposed to the atmosphere. Therefore, it is important to handle the equipment very carefully and avoid prolonged exposure to air.
